The Viktualienmarkt has been open for business daily (except for Sundays and public holidays) since 1807. The former farmers’ market still mainly offers produce at more than 140 stands. There is also a beer garden in the centre. The market is only a few minutes’ walk from Marienplatz, is well connected on all sides to the traffic system and sees many visitors – both local people and tourists – at all times of the day.
