The Christkindlmarkt on Marienplatz is the largest and oldest Christmas market in Munich. Over 150 stallholders offer their wares on an expanse of 25,000 sq.m, while the illuminated Christmas tree juts out above the hurly burly; moreover there’s a colourful entertainment programme. The market attracts about 3 million visitors every year, usually between the last week of November and Christmas Eve.
