Lake Hopfensee
Lake Hopfensee is situated 5 km to the northwest of Füssen and is one of the warmest lakes in the Bavarian alpine uplands. The promenade in the Füssen village of Hopfen am See (northwest bank of the lake) provides panoramic views of the entire Tannheim and Ammergau Alps mountain ranges. Strandbad Hopfen (natural outdoor swimming pool) with bathing jetty and large lawn with trees on the west side of the village. Filming location for sailing, surfing and swimming, all with an alpine background. Hopfen am See castle ruins: approx. 100 metres above Lake Hopfensee – uncovered remains of a romantic castle with panoramic views over the lake and the mountains.

190 ha lake. Various access points to the promenade with public parking right by the lakeside road. Hopfen castle ruins only accessible via the forest track with 4×4 vehicles.
