Historical forge homestead
The historical Eisenhammer Eckersmühlen forge homestead lies at the foot of the river Roth, whose water even today is still used to power the old forge. The old forge is itself built from heavy blacksmiths’ hammers dating back to 1920. These are still fully functioning. Regularly during the guided tours of the forge, the furnace is heated and the old hammers are demonstrated. The museum, which is a listed building, consists of the former manor house, the old forge, the old sawmill and a former cowshed.
