Glyptothek, Munich
The Glyptothek on Königsplatz in Munich was constructed as a museum according to plans by Leo von Klenze at the start of the 19th century. The building’s façade is based on a Greek temple. Inside, the museum houses an impressive collection of ancient Greek and Roman sculptures. Königsplatz itself provides a lot of free space, some of which is used as a park or for open air events and contains the State Collection of Antiquities and the Propylaea, as well as the Glyptothek.
