With the Fünf Höfe CityQuartier, the architects Herzog & de Meuron succeeded in re-interpreting a historical area in the heart of Munich. Five diversely designed courtyards and several shopping arcades charm the eye with a play of light, transparency, and mirror effects. As plants hang from the ceiling in Salvator Passage, an eight-ton stainless steel sphere is suspended over the heads of visitors of Viscardi Court.
