Dürrenwaid train station

A fully preserved branch-line railway station with wooden buildings and railway tracks, built in 1900 (later extended), in 1970s condition. The now disused train station (previously a branch-line station for the route between Kronach and Nordhalben) in the idyllic Rodachtal Valley near Nordhalben in the Franconian Forest Nature Reserve is now once again in use as a heritage railway during the summer months. The immediate vicinity is home to a listed flour/cutting mill with oven and a small chapel, as well as some factory ruins (one part still in use).
