The U-Bahnhof station Westfriedhof lies underneath the Orpheusstrasse in the Munich district of Moosach and was opened in 1998. A special characteristic of the U-Bahn station is Ingo Maurer’s lamp design. 11 large lamp holders – on average 3.80 m in diameter – bathe the platform in blue, red and yellow light, dividing it into various coloured areas.
