Wasserschloss Mitwitz
Renaissance water castle with four towers and a courtyard, surrounded by a moat. The main castle’s courtyard is home to a 18th century Neptune fountain and the sandstone statue “The Franconian Knight”. The castle chapel can be found in the west wing. The upper floors are home to various rooms with lots of original pieces from the 16th to the 20th centuries. The ground floor features an old kitchen with an open fireplace. The surrounding outbuildings feature (converted) historical stables, a former riding ring and an old workshop and former stalls. There is also a small, idyllic tea house with a terrace between the Wasserschloss and the castle pond.
