Veste Coburg

The Veste Coburg, also referred to as “Franconian Crown” is approx. 160 metres above the city. It is approx. 135 x 260 metres in area and extends across two castle courtyards inside. At the start of the 20th century, it was redesigned, but has preserved its medieval character. It is primarily the inner courtyards, battlements and grounds that are suitable for filming. Administration and museums are accommodated in parts of the buildings. There is a seamless transition between the castle complex and the so-called court garden. Various ramparts allow a spectacular view of the Bavarian and Thuringian countryside.
