The artist Rudolf Schmid and his family created here an extraordinary “Gesamtkunstwerk”, or synthesis of many pieces of art. The idiosyncratic building has six huge painted glass walls illustrating stories mainly of the Bavarian Forest. Woodcarvings on a monumental scale can also be admired.
