The Schyrenbad is in Untergiesing, near the River Isar, and was opened in 1847 as a swimming bath for men. After an interlude as an Olympic training facility in 1972, it underwent a general refurbishment in 2006-7. Today the Schyrenbad offers two pools with areas for non-swimmers, slides, themed pools, sport and leisure areas, a kiosk and a beer garden.
