Sandizell Castle - historical moated castle

The moated castle of Sandizell is idyllically located about seven kilometers west of Schrobenhausen in Upper Bavaria. The castle was built around 1580 as a three-winged complex, but burned down during the Thirty Years' War. After the fire, the castle was rebuilt in Baroque style until 1755. A moat surrounds the castle and castle park, access is via a wide bridge and leads into a spacious courtyard. The castle is inhabited and is very well preserved, some of the rooms are originally furnished, other rooms of the castle also in an elegant mix of antiques and modern furniture. Many rooms, but also the entire castle with park, courtyard, etc. are available for filming.
