Rosenberg fortress with fortress woods

Rosenberg Fortress is one of the largest of all fortifications (23.6 ha), originating between the Gothic and Baroque periods with highly diverse defensive architecture in a prominent location (hill fortification). It features a fortress gate by Antonio Petrini, two wooden bulwark bridges, a commander’s quarters (located in the Franconian Gallery) by Balthasar Neumann, a chapel, restaurant, and beer garden with a fantastic view overlooking the historic old city.
