Old Town Hall

Following its reconstruction in the 15th century, the Altes Rathaus, or Old Town Hall of Munich, has lived through numerous transformations through the centuries. Since 1874, when the town administration function moved into the New Town Hall, it is now used for prestigious events, which are primarily held in the historical banquet room on the first floor of the building. Also worth mentioning here are the ground floor, which was completely replaced by road tunnels in Gothic style, and the toy museum in the town hall tower. Due to its prominent position between Marienplatz square and the Viktualienmarkt market, you can count on people continually passing by.
