Ofnet Caves Nördlingen
The two caves known as the “Large Ofnet” and the “Small Ofnet” lie on the rocky southwestern slope of a high ridge on the south edge of the Ries crater. In 1908 R.R. Schmidt uncovered the as yet undisturbed entrance area of the Large Ofnet, which had been protected by fallen rocks, and the terrace out in front.
