The palace and park grounds of Schloss Nymphenburg are a total work of art of European standing in their combination of architecture and garden design. The Nymphenburg Canal leads from the access avenue to the castle, several bridges cross the canal and connect the southern and northern access avenues. In summer it is appreciated by strollers and castle visitors alike. In winter, Munich residents meet there on the ice for skating and curling.
