New Castle Ingolstadt

The New Castle of Ingolstadt is counted among the most beautiful secular gothic buildings in southern Germany. Building took place from 1418 until around 1500. Later remodeling and additions were mostly done on the castle's South side. The castle complex consists of the governer's office (currently admistration), the main building (palas, currently Bavarian Army Museum), the armory (currently empty) and the workshop building (also called cavalier's building) as well as some outbuildings. The entrance gate features a bell tower and several canons are on display in the courtyard. Castle, Military, historical, Gothic
