Maximilianstrasse, Munich

The construction of a road between Max-Joseph-Platz and the Maximilianeum began in 1852. The Maximilianstrasse is a mix of very diverse architectural elements, from the Renaissance to the neo-Gothic. Today the part between the Altstadtring and Max-Joseph-Platz is ringed by luxury goods shops and hotels. Other characteristic buildings along the street are the Residenz and National theatres, Kammerspiele Theatre, the Five Continents Museum and the GOP Variety Theatre.
