Market Square

The 76-metre-long and 74-metre-wide Market Square in Coburg appears almost square. It is connected to the rest of the Old Town via seven narrow streets. Prince Albert is enthroned in the centre of the square. The southern and northern sides of the square are home to the 15th century town hall and the Stadthaus – the former ducal chancellery and most famous renaissance building in the town, dating back to the 16th century – respectively. Two fountains decorate the southern part of the square close to the town hall.
