Chartered flights from Hof-Plauen Airport were discontinued in 2012. The airport was modernised in 2007; the runway and the large movement area were reconstructed and concreted, and in 2008/2009 a new hangar was built.  Filling stations and works areas were built for AvGas (aviation gas) and JET-A1 (kerosine). A car park with 196 spaces was erected outside the airport. The entry area in front of the terminal was redesigned and the tower modernised.
