Historical Old Town Bayreuth

Kanzleistrasse, Schlossstrasse and Maximilianstrasse are the most important streets in Bayreuth's historic city center. An eye-catcher in Kanzleistrasse is the town church with its two imposing towers. The Margrave Church dates from the 14th/15th century and is in the late Gothic style. The street itself has been dominated on the eastern side, diagonally opposite the town church, since the 17th century by the now yellow-plastered building complex of the former margrave's chancellery, which was unified in the 19th century. Furthermore, the old town is characterized by various squares, the city palace and other magnificent streets with various historically significant and listed buildings.
