Haldenwang Castle with orangery

The private Haldenwang Castle in the district of Günzburg has a three-storey main building as well as an octagonal tower and farm buildings that were added a little later. The beginnings of the castle date back to the 15th century. It was built around 1480 and came into the possession of the Imperial Barons of Freyberg-Eisenberg in 1523. In 1860, Rudolf von Freyberg-Eisenberg renovated the old building in neo-Gothic style. The castle is elevated on a hill and is surrounded by a park with a fish pond, rose garden and chapel courtyard. Near the castle there is also an old Roman road, a bridge leading over a ravine in the forest, market gardens with greenhouses, a stable, a barn with a stage.
